Bath

For the third day, we took a train (~1.5 hours) over to Bath and picked up the rental car.  We immediately drove to Stonehenge to check it out, and returned to Bath afterward to check into the hotel.  We went into town and had a fabulous Thai dinner right near the Royal Theatre and a slew of drinks afterward.  This morning, we spent a bit more time in Bath before starting the long drive (~4 hours) up to Barrow-in-Furness in the early afternoon.

We leave tomorrow by train to Bath, where we'll pick up a car and double back to Stonehenge.  We'll stay the night in Bath before heading up to Barrow-in-furness in the Lake District.  The Langham here in London was great!

Someone in the neighborhood cycling club was paying closer attention than I when this RoadID commercial played earlier in this year's Tour de France coverage:



If you watch the riders showing proper group riding technique, you'll see our neighborhood.  They are clearly riding on Spruce Canyon for part of it (the stone walls) and Escarpment in others (the wood slat fencing).  The ride past Nan Clayton Elementary adds a bit of extra confirmation!

Damn This Is Awesome

This is Russ Roberts' second such video...the first was also good.  I love how a totally made up 'economics joke rap' is >= musically a large portion of what passes as hip hop.  The video is even better than the majority of videos for non-joke music too:

First Gosu Public Release..

The Guidewire language, Gosu, was mentioned a few posts ago -- I linked to some material presented at the JVM Languages Summit.  Today is the first release of the language to the public at large.  At the moment, it's termed a 'community release' -- open for use under an APL-style license, but no source (yet).
